Coach Russell Mapri has decided to take a sabbatical from his coaching duties with our FQPL4 team due to personal reasons.
We extend our utmost gratitude to Coach Mapri for his invaluable contributions over the past two years, including his instrumental role in our promotion last season. His dedication and leadership have been integral to the team’s success, and we wish him all the best during his time off.
Stepping into the interim head coach position is Alex McMillan, a seasoned coach with an impressive track record in the Queensland football scene. McMillan brings a wealth of experience, having previously served as an assistant coach at Albany Creek, where he achieved remarkable milestones, including three premierships, three grand finals appearances, two promotions, and lifting the Canale Cup.
McMillan’s coaching prowess extends beyond his tenure at Albany Creek, as he also made significant contributions to Eastern Suburbs FC and Moggill FC. His leadership and strategic insights have consistently propelled teams to success, earning him respect and admiration throughout the football community.
“We are thrilled to have Alex McMillan step in as our interim head coach during this transitional period,” said Vice President (Seniors) Ross Parker.
“His proven track record and dedication to player development make him the ideal candidate to lead our team forward. We have full confidence in his abilities and look forward to continued success under his guidance.”
Bardon Latrobe remains committed to supporting Coach Mapri during his sabbatical and ensuring a smooth transition under Coach McMillan’s leadership.
Coach McMillan will be assisted by Deric Woodford (U23s Coach and Assistant), Robbie Weaver (GK coach and Assistant) and Rob McLauclan (Manager).
